MIM Parts
Metal injection molding can be used to create small, complex metal parts that would be too difficult to machine, and MIM parts afford higher tolerances than casting or forging parts.
MIM is often used as mechanical/structural parts inside products (e.g. small levers, hinges, brackets etc.), so you don’t always notice them. You can find them in mobiles phones, laptops and even the kindle. But now more and more cosmetic parts are made using MIM process to meet the requirement of appearance. They are pricier than injection molded plastic due to more processes with sintering and so on, but if mass manufactured in China, it’s still fairly economical.
